Ally McCoist Cleared in Car Insurance Case

Son Liable for 244,000 Hit-and-Run Bill

Rangers Legend Not Responsible for Son's Negligence

Ally McCoist, the Scottish football legend and current Rangers manager, has been cleared of any liability in a car insurance case involving his son.

The case stemmed from a hit-and-run incident in which McCoist's son, Ally McCoist Jr., was involved. An insurance company sought to recover part of a 244,000 claim from McCoist Sr., arguing that he should have prevented his son from using the car since he knew the son was not insured.

However, a judge has ruled that McCoist Sr. cannot be held responsible for his son's negligence. The judge found that McCoist Sr. had explicitly told his son that he was not allowed to use the car and that there was no evidence to suggest that McCoist Sr. knew that his son was intending to break the rule.

McCoist Sr. expressed his relief at the verdict, saying that he was "vindicated" and that he had "always maintained that I had nothing to do with this case."

The case has highlighted the importance of parents taking steps to prevent their children from driving without insurance. McCoist Sr. urged parents to "make sure that your kids are properly insured and that they know the consequences of driving without insurance."
